Many people want to learn guitar because of the music they love to listen to.  I can help students learn any piece of music they feel they want to learn and also guide a student to guitar styles that they may not have considered.

I teach mainly on a one-to-one basis, although joint lessons can be arranged under certain circumstances. Lessons are structured to develop all areas of guitar playing technique and focus on the student's individual musical direction - this could be rock, blues, jazz, funk, pop or punk. The role of the tutor is to help the student build a solid playing technique, develop an understanding of music theory and maximise the enjoyment of playing guitar. I also encourage students to write songs, form bands and start playing live at an early stage.

Electric

Electric guitar lessons are the core of the initial offering. I have 100s of lessons ranging from rock and blues to jazz. Those seeking beginner electric guitar lessons will love My Absolute Beginner course, and more advanced players will be challenged by My advanced rock shred guitar and advanced jazz lessons.

Acoustic
The Early Beginner Acoustic Guitar Lessons will ultimately take up where My Absolute Beginner Guitar Lessons leave off, and lessons will proceed up to the Accomplished Advanced level. The 160-plus lesson curriculum covers everything from basic folk-style strumming to advanced fingerpicking and flatpicking techniques.
Classical
The Classical session begins with basic principles of seating and positioning, but progress quickly to repertoire. Learn proper right - and left-hand technique including free-stroke, rest-stroke, arpeggios and scales. Many aspects of technique covered in these classical guitar lessons will actually improve your playing in all other styles.
Bass

Studying the bass can be fun for all levels of player, from beginner right through to advanced. Examining and playing various styles including funk, blues, jazz, disco and rock, to name but a few, really brings the best out in students.
